Sunday is the New Tuesday...

Tonight marked a triumphant return to that mecca of raw fish popularly known as Cafe Sushi. Ever since they stopped their half-priced sushi tuesday promotion, sushi has been sadly lacking from the Pranksta Crew's life. As Sundays are essentially half-priced, they are a viable alternative to Tuesdays.

Henceforth will Sunday be the new Tuesday.

Maybe Next Year...

So my beloved Red Sox are on vacation in October. A disappointing end to their first season as defending World Series Champions in 86 years. I still can't believe it. Before last October, the best sporting moment of my life was watching Ray Bourque raise the Stanley Cup. As a fucking Colorado Avalanche. Basically, I could care less what happens in the sporting world for the rest of time. The Sox finally won and my world has changed.

I was reading up today in the hopes of deciding who to root for in the upcoming World Series. Seeing as how my second favorite team (whoever is playing the Yankees) will not be playing, it's a tough call. After years of hating him, I've turned a corner in my post-Red Sox relationship with Roger Clemens. He's a monster and I am in awe of him. I've always been a big fan of Jeff Bagwell (another one the Sox let go). But I feel immense sympathy for the fans of the White Sox, who've gone longer without a Series win than my beloved Red Sox. Plus Paul Konerko is from Providence, RI. Maybe I'll be better off watching some Bruins action. Not sure about the new rules (or rather enforcement thereof) though.

I blog; therefore, I am

7:47 PM Thursday night; state my assumptions: if you're reading this, then you need to get out more.

I am bored. Yesterday I was bored. And it's a good bet that tomorrow I will again be bored. See a pattern here? Three unanswered months of unemployment will do that to you. My long and storied love affair with my couch and satellite TV is in trouble. Cue up the Everly Bros, cuz that loving feeling is subsiding. Even the prospect of four hours of Family Guy reruns is not pumping my nads.

I did perk up a little bit to The Colbert Report. Big expectations hover, but I am hopeful. There were shaky moments--I expect it'll take some time for them to find their footing. But when Stephen Colbert is on, he's fucking brilliant. By the way: if you don't watch The Daily Show, get the hell off my blog.

I'm listening to "Holiday in Rhode Island" by a groovy band by the name of The Softies. They're from the midwest, I think. Two women, softly strummed guitars, ethereal melodies. RI is my home state and when last I was there, a college radio station was playing it. It's nice.

Anyhoo, this is my inaugural post. I'm a bit of a geek, but I gotta admit that this blog shit still kinda weirds me out.
